NVIDIA's Tegra K1 Support Lands In Mainline Mesa

In continuation of the story earlier today about NVIDIA contributing Mesa patches to add "GK20A" support to Nouveau's NVC0 Gallium3D driver, the support has now landed within mainline Mesa.

As the newest feature to Mesa 10.3 is the "GK20A" graphics support for the GPU found within the Tegra K1 SoC. The GK20A is a Kepler-based GPU and shares a lot in common with the GK104 and GK110 GPUs, which eased NVIDIA's patch workload and allowed this support to quickly land.

Of course, you will also need to use a patched version of the Linux kernel with Nouveau's NV20A support work, but that should be mainlined for Linux 3.16. The two necessary user-space patches just landed as early Mesa 10.3 features, or Mesa 11.0 should core OpenGL 4.0 support be reached within the next three months.
