Mesa's Top Contributors This Summer
Here's some numbers on how Mesa 3D development has been pacing the past few months.
With a fresh run of GitStats over the Mesa mainline Git code-base as of this morning, the Mesa source tree is up to 1,439,880 lines of code spread across 4,298 files. There's been 65,193 commits to Mesa, which averages out to 14 commits per active day. A total of 648 contributors have been detected within the Mesa code-base.
Mesa's development has basically been pacing the same over the past two years. In August there were 637 commits, 478 commits in July, 591 commits in June, and 499 commits in May.
So far this year there's been 4,471 commits. The previous three years each saw just over six thousand commits.
Eric Anholt was the top contributor in August (thanks to landing his new VC4 Gallium3D driver at Broadcom) while the previous months were controlled by Kenneth Graunke and Matt Turner of the Intel crew. Other names worth mentioning include Emil Velikov, Ilia Mirkin, Rob Clark, and Marek Olšák.
What's been your favorite improvement in Mesa this summer? Do you think OpenGL 4.0~4.2 will be reached this calendar year for core Mesa? Let us know in the forums.
