MATE 1.8 Is Looking To Come To Fedora 20

Besides GNOME 3.12 being worked on for Fedora 20, it looks like MATE 1.8 will also end up landing as a stable release update.

With Fedora 21 not coming until October, package maintainers and users are interested in getting the MATE 1.8 desktop into Fedora 20. MATE is the GNOME 2 forked desktop environment that recently was released with new features.

In response to a user question about the mate-desktop 1.8 release for Fedora 20, Dan Mashal responded, "Prospect is good [for MATE 1.8 in F20]. We're QAing on Rawhide at the moment."
