Mesa 10 Packages For Fedora 20
While Fedora 20 is looking to land GNOME 3.12 as a stable release upgrade, the developers normally shipping a bleeding-edge Linux graphics stack haven't sent down any stable release updates for the much-improved Mesa 10 drivers. Fortunately, there's some unofficial choices.
Sadly there has been no indications of sending down Mesa 10.0 or Mesa 10.1 as updates to Fedora 20. These updates provide OpenGL 3.3 support, new hardware support, performance improvements, some new GL4 extensions, and other support improvements. However, with new Mesa releases can also come regressions.
For those users of Fedora 20 stable wishing to have Mesa 10, there's a independent Copr repository that is tracking Mesa 10.0.x. This repository was pointed out this morning by a Phoronix reader.
To some surprise, it doesn't look like Mesa 10.1 will be added to this repository since, "Mesa 10.1 (rc2) makes the GNOME shell unusable so probably 10.1 won't make it into this repo."
