Genode OS 14.02 Gains VirtualBox, NetBSD FS Support
The latest release of the Genode OS Framework is out today and it has two primary new features for its latest version.
Genode OS 14.02 features the ability for VirtualBox to run on top of their NOVA micro-hypervisor and there's support for NetBSD's file-systems. There's also been a revamp of Genode's storage handling and a new block cache. Block level components of Genode OS are now able to work asynchronously.
Support for NetBSD file-systems was added to Genode OS by developing "rump kernels" that allow the execution of NetBSD kernel subsystems at the user-level as Genode components.
More details on Genode OS 14.02 can be found via the release notes.
