Intel Updates Its Closed-Source OpenCL SDK For Linux
This latest refresh of Intel's OpenCL SDK builds atop OpenCL XE 2013 and adds support for remote development with Android, other enhancements for developers, and is certified for OpenCL 1.2 support. Under Linux the Intel OpenCL SDK is certified for SUSE Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Intel's OpenCL SDK for Linux is sadly closed-source, but also a big problem is that (at least as of last check and haven't been able to get any other confirmation yet) is that the OpenCL SDK under Linux can still only target the CPU and not the graphics processor of the latest Intel hardware.
What's open-source and with Linux graphics support is the Beignet project, but its growth and adoption remains rather slow... Beignet is starting to work for some users, but it's far from being on-par with the Intel OpenCL Windows support or what's offered on Linux by the proprietary AMD and NVIDIA graphics drivers.
