After Kdenlive's video editing future went dark last year, it was revived and once again the future is looking bright for this open-source non-linear video editor.

Kdenlive 0.9.8 was released today and while it doesn't bring any groundbreaking new features or improvements like their new architecture and long-awaited use of OpenGL GLSL, there are some modest changes to find with today's point release. Along with a handful of bug-fixes, the changes to find with this release includes improvements for fades, copy proxies with the "move project" task, clean encoding profiles using LTS presets and profiles, audio align now works asynchronously, and support for JogShuttle to work on newer systems.

More details on today's Kdenlive 0.9.8 update can be found at Kdenlive.org.
