Counter-Strike: Source Linux GPU Benchmarks

Thanks to a Phoronix reader being interested in Counter-Strike: Source benchmark results under Linux and providing a PayPal tip that was earmarked in hopes of a test profile covering CS:S, the milestone was quickly achieved on Sunday. For Phoronix Test Suite users you can now run phoronix-test-suite benchmark cstrike for carrying out fully-automated benchmarks of Valve's Counter-Strike: Source.
There's now a Counter-Strike: Source test profile that works for Linux-based systems, but it has the same issues that there are for Steam-based Linux game benchmarks, sadly. But if you install Counter-Strike: Source from your currently installed Steam Linux client and it's in the default directory, it's now possible to conduct automated tests. Assuming it happens to be the same Steam-installed version as the Phoronix tests, you can now carry out comparison tests with the same test demo and in the same configuration.
Besides running phoronix-test-suite benchmark cstrike to carry out your own tests, you can visit the test profile page to see results from other submissions (e.g. manipulate URLs like this via OpenBenchmarking.org to run some easy comparisons) -- there's already a few different result uploads I did on Sunday. As NVIDIA happens to be sending out some new high-end graphics hardware, I will also be running some Counter-Strike: Source tests for that article.
If you wish to see any Linux gaming benchmark results for other Steam-based games, see my original issues in benchmarking Steam-based games. However, if you are interested in helping out new test profiles are always accepted. If you are interested in seeing what the "test profile" to makes Counter-Strike: Source benchmarking possible under Linux see this web-page otherwise please consider making a PayPal tip (in making any much appreciated contributions, feel free to voice your thoughts about future test profiles or benchmark / hardware review articles) or contacting PTS Commercial for professional inquiries.
