BFS Scheduler Lost Some Charm With Linux 3.11

It appears that the out-of-tree BFS scheduler lost some of its charm with the Linux 3.11 kernel release where CFS is now running faster.

Con Kolivas continues to maintain the Brain Fuck Scheduler as his out-of-tree process scheduler that's simple and oriented for desktop systems. While many Linux desktop users have been happy with BFS, it seems for at least some systems and kernel configurations the Completely Fair Scheduler is gaining ground over BFS with Linux 3.11.

A Phoronix reader pointed out results here showing a great performance improvement with CFS in two different kernel configurations and beating out -- or running as close as -- BFS-patched kernels. Con Kolivas had commented as a reply to one of the posts in the thread, but he has no further comments at this time about the Linux kernel source code.
