Latest Round Of Debian Systemd vs. Upstart Voting Ends
The latest round of voting by the Debian technical committee is now complete on deciding the future default init system of the open-source operating system.
Yesterday began another round of voting on Debian's init system for 8.0 Jessie and moving forward. If you're not aware of the whole multiple month discussion that largely comes down to systemd vs. Upstart, read that aforelinked article.
Anyhow, after some vote-changing, Ian Jackson has announced the conclusion of voting. "With this and Colin's change of vote, 4 TC members have ranked FD first. The outcome is no longer in doubt: FD wins."
FD means that "further discussion" is still required before the technical committee will decide upon Debian's init system choice.
