JabirOS: A Former Ubuntu OS Turned FreeBSD

Muhammadreza Haghiri fired off an email this morning to announce JabirOS, a FreeBSD operating system.
JabirOS 1.0 is based upon FreeBSD 9.2-RC1 and ships with OpenBox as a window manager and SLIM as the display manager. Before getting too hopeful that this is a FreeBSD desktop operating system that's like PC-BSD but catered towards Openbox, your hopes are too high. JabirOS 1.0 doesn't yet even include a web browser, office suite, or other desktop utilities but they must be manually installed via the pkg_add package management system.
JabirOS was originally based upon Ubuntu Linux but earlier this year they switched their roots to FreeBSD. The FreeBSD-based JabirOS does have its own installer, which is a simple shell script and designed after the Arch Linux installer.
While JabirOS lacks basic desktop software by default like a web-browser and the command-line needs to be used for adding in these extra packages and installing the actual OS, the project claims to be "a beginner-friendly & desktop oriented operating system."
Those curious about the FreeBSD-based JabirOS can visit JabirProject.org. If you're looking for a bit more of a polished FreeBSD desktop derivative, check out the KDE-based PC-BSD or GhostBSD with GNOME.
