Canonical Lowers Ubuntu Edge Pricing

For the first day it was a $600 price-tag for the Ubuntu-powered phone, but after that it went up to $830 USD, which many Linux users found to be too expensive. Now Canonical has introduced $625, $675, and $725 price points, each with 1250 units available at each pricing tier. It also sounds like they may introduce additional pricing tiers once all units have been allotted. If paying $1400 you can also grab yourself two Edge smart-phones.
Mark Shuttleworth's company is hoping to keep the Ubuntu Edge momentum going with these price tags that are more reasonable than $830 for a yet-to-be-finalized device. As of this morning they are at a 4.4 million dollar total, which is certainly a slower pace than their 3.1 million dollars in the first day.
