The Intel Haswell HD Graphics 4600 performance for OpenGL doesn't change much if trying out the experimental Linux 3.11 kernel.

With the Linux 3.11 kernel for open-source graphics fans most of the excitement is about the Radeon dynamic power management support that's finally arrived. Other also great features of the DRM drivers on Linux 3.11 include Nouveau VP2 H.264 / MPEG2 video decoding and AMD HD 8000 "Sea Islands" support. There's also many other DRM graphics driver changes, but not all of them are visible to the end-user.

I have already run Intel Ivy Bridge benchmarks on Linux 3.11 to find not much has changed with regard to the OpenGL performance when using Mesa 9.2-devel. However, with more of the Intel i965 DRM changes in Linux 3.11 dealing with Haswell, I also ran some comparative Linux kernel tests there too.

From an Intel Core i7 4770K "Haswell" system with HD Graphics 4600 I ran some benchmarks between the Linux 3.8 and Linux 3.11 Git kernels as of this week. Full system details and all of the results are within 1307182-SO-INTELHASW40.

While the Linux 3.10 kernel brought with it performance improvements for Intel's new Haswell hardware at the time, there's no further kernel-side changes on 3.11 that dramatically change the numbers.
