Fedora 20 Might No Longer Install Syslog

A new Fedora 20 feature proposal this week is to no longer install syslog/rsyslog by default but have it replaced by systemd's journald. Such a change was talked about for Fedora 19 but ultimately didn't make the cut with rsyslog still being present along side the systemd journal.
The Fedora 20 feature proposal cites, "The journal has been around for a few releases and is well tested. F19 already enabled persistent journal logging on disk, thus all logs have been stored twice on disk, once in journal files and once in /var/log/messages. This feature hence recommends no longer installing rsyslog by default, leaving only the journal in place."
On the Fedora Project Wiki is the NoDefaultSyslog page while on the mailing list is a very polarized and lengthy mailing list thread expressing mixed feelings over replacing syslog with the systemd journal.
