Desura Acquired By Linden Lab

Desura, the digital game distribution service similar to Valve's Steam that also supports Linux gaming, has been acquired by Linden Lab.

Linden Lab, the company behind the Second Life game and other lesser known titles, acquired the Desura digital distribution service. Linden Lab is looking to continue Desura for current customers but reportedly the acquisition was done for Desura's team, business, and technology being a great fit for the San Francisco company.

More details on the Desura acquisition can be found via the press release. The Desura Linux client remains available but in terms of AAA games the Valve Steam Linux client is obviously the preferred choice.
