Linux Power Supply Charging Framework Still Sought

While there's not much direct benefit to end-users, the power supply charging framework would simplify Linux power charger drivers by not needing to have charging logic within the driver itself and being able to interface with multiple kernel subsystems in a generic manner.
The power supply charging framework takes advantage of the Linux battery identification framework, pluggable charging algorithms, charger cable arbitrations, and enables the PSE-compliant charging algorithm.
This power supply charging framework is still pending review by kernel developers but can be found on the Linux kernel mailing list.
