VMware Workstation 10 Brings In New Features

VMware Workstation 10 for Linux and Windows hosts brings support for Microsoft Windows 8.1, a new virtual Serial ATA disk controller, support for up to 20 virtual networks, USB3 Streams support for faster file copying, improved application and Windows VM startup times, and SSD pass-through support. Workstation 10 also offers advanced restrictions support, virtual tablet sensors, and improved multiple monitor setups. The virtual tablet sensors present in Workstation 10 include an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and ambient light sensor for targeting tablet VMs. VMware Workstation 10 supports handling up to 16 vCPUs, 8 TB of SATA disks, and 64GB of RAM.

VMware Fusion 6 meanwhile has Windows 8.1 support, support for Apple's forthcoming OS X 10.9 Mavericks release, performance improvements (particuarly for Intel Haswell), Retina Display optimizations, enhanced connectivity, and much more.
