VIRTUALIZATION
The second beta release of the Oracle's VM VirtualBox 4.3 software is now available. So far VirtualBox 4.3 isn't proving to be too incredibly interesting.

VirtualBox releases in recent times since Oracle's acquisition of Sun Microsystems have been less interesting than going back in the feature-heavy releases of the past, plus the somewhat plateauing of new innovations within their desktop virtualization world.

The first VirtualBox 4.3 Beta release at the end of August brought a rewrite of the VMM's VT-x code, emulated USB touch device support, IPv6 support, an experimental virtual router NAT mode, and GUI support for several items (keyboard shortcut management, an extended messaging mechanism, video capturing support, and host touch devices support).

Today's second beta of VirtualBox 4.3 -- with the bulk of the 4.3 development now being complete -- brings several regression fixes to the VMM and other fixes, GUI fixes, fixed NAT port-forwarding, fixes for Ubuntu 13.04 3D desktop rendering issues, and dropped 32-bit Solaris host support.
