Intel GPU Benchmarks On Linux 3.9-rc1 Kernel
For our first benchmarks from the early Linux 3.9 kernel are some initial Intel graphics benchmarks to look for any changes affecting Sandy Bridge owners with the updated Intel DRM driver.
The Linux 3.9 DRM changes aren't too incredibly exciting this time around, but some Sandy Bridge (and Ivy Bridge) benchmarks are being done to look for any improvements or regressions for this kernel that just hit -rc1 yesterday.
For this brief 3.9-rc1 Intel HD 3000 graphics benchmarking from an HP EliteBook that was Intel's reference Software Development Vehicle for Sandy Bridge, there's 3.9-rc1 benchmarks compared to Linux 3.8 and 3.7. Benchmarks in full along with other system details are hosted on OpenBenchmarking.org within 1303045-FO-INTELSAND68.
Overall though, if you're running Intel HD 3000 graphics on Linux 3.9, there isn't much in the way of OpenGL performance changes in either direction, at least when running Mesa 9.2-devel Git and the usual selection of Linux gaming benchmarks:
