While there wasn't a public Knoppix 7.1 release beyond their annual Linux Magazine CeBIT edition, Knoppix 7.2 was released instead to all users. Knoppix 7.2 is based on Debian "Wheezy" with newer desktop packages from Debian/testing and Debian/unstable Jessie.

The popular Knoppix distribution is using the Linux 3.9 kernel no along with X.Org 7.7, LibreOffice 4.0, GIMP 2.8, Chromium 27 (and Firefox/Iceweasel 21), and uses LXDE by default. From the Knoppix DVD, however, KDE 4.8.4 and GNOME 3.4.2 are available. This release also offers experimental support for UEFI booting.

More details on Knoppix 7.2 can be found out at Knopper.net.
