The Linux 3.10 Kernel Might Be One Week Away
The Linux 3.10-rc7 kernel was released today and if all goes according to plan this will be the last release candidate prior to the official release of the Linux 3.10 kernel.
Linus Torvalds began his 3.10-rc7 announcement this afternoon with: "So this is hopefully the last -rc in the series, and things have indeed be calming down finally, so assuming that trend continues, we're all good."
This late in the kernel development cycle, it's all about regression fixes, and accured over the past week have been fixes all over the kernel tree. Torvalds notes, "so we have stuff all over, most of it happily fairly small."
