Digia Announces "Boot To Qt" Project

Boot To Qt is Digia's new solution for developing "slick user interfaces on embedded devices." This new stack consists of a UI component driven by thr Qt Framework, ready-made developer images, full Qt Creator integration, and a VirtualBox-based simulator. Android is being used as the base layer to the OS.
Digia is hoping for a Boot To Qt release before year's end and right now is just sharing it with commercial partners upon request.
With their current Technology Preview, the Google Nexus 7, Beagle Board xM, and Boundary SabreLite are considered supported devices. Digia is advertising the new project's performance as being better and lighter-weight than Android.
More details on the new Boot To Qt initiative can be found via this Digia blog post and the video that's embedded below.
