Ubuntu SDK Beta Planned For July With New Widgets
A beta release of the Ubuntu SDK is currently slated for availability in July. Other plans for the Ubuntu SDK were also expressed today during this week's virtual Ubuntu Developer Summit.
Some takeaways from the Ubuntu SDK Roadmap session include:
- New widgets are being planned for a "share menu" with social network integration, a content picker, search box for content within an application, an options button, combo button, and date/time picker.
- There's ongoing visual design work at the widget level.
- API work that's ongoing is for addressing settings and U1DB Ubuntu One Database support.
- An Ubuntu SDK Beta is planned for July with a responsive layout, a unified actions API, and a number of new widgets. After the release, they will be committing to supporting the API.
