ALSA 1.0.26 Released

The user-space components to ALSA 1.0.26 has been released for improving Linux sound support.

The ALSA 1.0.26 release features various API improvements to the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture library, improvements to the ALSA utilities, various improvements to the ALSA tools, and two minor improvements (including 24-bit format audio support for PulseAudio) to the ALSA plug-ins. The ALSA Python package has also received two minor fixes.

More details on this new release can be found via but there isn't too much exciting stuff with most of the interesting Linux sound improvements happening within the hardware kernel drivers.
