Genode 11.11 Released With Virtualization Options
"The overall theme of Genode 11.11 is the exploration of various levels of virtualization, ranging from faithful virtualization, over paravirtualized Linux, to custom variants of OS-level and application-level virtualization. The latter approach is particularly related to Genode and provides us with a novel approach to user-level debugging," from the release announcement.
The Vancouver Virtual Machine Monitor is introduced in this Genode release as a high-performance virtualization implementation and then there's also Linux para-virtualization work. The developers strived to be able to execute Android as a node in Genode's process, by integrating L4Linux with the Genode system interfaces.
The Genode 11.11 release notes provide much more detail about the virtualization support found in this framework OS release and its other features.
