Lightworks Video Editor For Linux Is Delayed
Back in September it was said that the open-source Lightworks video editor would ship for Linux in November, but this has turned out to not be the case.
Lightworks, the professional-grade non-linear video editing application that decided last year it would go open-source, is unfortunately falling behind for its Linux and Mac OS X operating system support.
The delay of Lightworks for Linux (and Mac OS X) was announced on their forums. "We have been working on these updates for several months and had originally hoped to release the new version on the 29th November. However, we are not yet fully satisfied with the stability of this version with its many new features and therefore we have made the difficult decision to delay its release to our customers."
No new estimated release date for the Linux version has been said yet. At least for now there's emerging alternatives like Novacut and OpenShot.
