Blender 2.60 Final Is Ready With Many Changes

Notable features to Blender 2.60 include 3D audio and speaker objects, sequence editor proxy support, vertex group modifiers, animation system improvements, Collada integration, navigation meshes for the Blender game engine, Python API improvements, new add-ons, better localization support, and many other enhancements. Some work from the Google Summer of Code projects have also been merged. The prominent changes to Blender 2.60 are talked about on the Blender Wiki.
Blender 2.61 is expected to succeed this new release with availability in December of 2011, Blender 2.62 in February of 2012, and Blender 2.63 in April of 2012.
Blender 2.60 has been in release candidate form since earlier this month while over the night the final release packages were pushed to this web directory.
