NVIDIA Releases Tegra Hardfp Pack
About one week ago, NVIDIA released new hardfp-built Tegra Linux drivers.
NVIDIA's Tegra hardfp ABI announcement is quite brief but can be found here. Using the ARM hardware floating-point can result in significant performance improvements as earlier tests have shown.
Meanwhile as of last month the NVIDIA Linux For Tegra stack that's based upon an Ubuntu 11.04 snapshot is up to version R15 Beta. This stack ships for NVIDIA Tegra 3 Cardhu and NVIDIA Tegra 2 Harmony/Ventana. This 11.04-modified Ubuntu stack ships with preliminary U-Boot support, the Linux 3.1 kernel, nvgstplayer and nvgstcapture integration for multimedia streaming and capturing, and the Tegra X driver is ABI 12 compatible. NVIDIA's Tegra Linux graphics driver continues to support OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0 and RandR 1.3.
Additional details are available from this web-page. Meanwhile I do continue to run more NVIDIA Tegra 3 benchmarks. Some of the results at this time are available by searching Cardhu on OpenBenchmarking.org.
