Did Hell Freeze Over? GIMP 2.8 Released
With word this morning of Electronic Arts making plans with Ubuntu and now the release of GIMP 2.8, some may think that hell has frozen over.
I've been writing about GIMP 2.8 for the past three years and originally was going to come around Christmas of 2010 but was struggling to make it out the door with multiple delays.
Last year the GIMP developers finally got the single window mode working and other new features. In April of this year it finally hit an RC state and is now being released.
Among the many GIMP 2.8 features that have built up include the single window mode, on-canvas text editing, enhanced resource management, extended paint dynamics, and much more.
Find out more or download at GIMP.org.
Now it's time to start looking forward to GIMP 2.10 that will be ported to the GEGL core...
