SCALE 10x Kicks Off Today In Los Angeles
Yesterday was the beginning of some SCALE presentations and the first of the parties while today the popular US open-surce event gets kicked off by Greg DeKoenigsberg (formerly of the Fedora Project) keynoting about cloud computing. For those interested the schedule can be found online. Among the talks I'll be checking out today and potentially writing about or tweeting about include: Qt Project, Chris Mason's Btrfs, Consolidating Linux and Open-Source Projects on ARM, PandaBoard, and FUSE with in-kernel meta-data caching.
It also looks like tonight at 8:00PM I will be talking about open-source graphics drivers. Or rather, hosting an open discussion to see what a new variety of users have to say about open-source graphics drivers for Linux are and what they see as limitations, benefits, etc. The room isn't yet known as this is coming together at the last minute, but check the BoF schedule. I could also say a few more words on the open-source, reverse-engineered Mali GPU driver story that I exclusively delivered at midnight.
Tomorrow will also be a wide variety of talks from how to make your GNOME 3.x Shell desktop look like the classic GNOME2 to selling free software to other happenings.
