MATE Desktop 1.10 Has GObject Introspection, Other Changes
The MATE Desktop 1.10 release has more work on porting to GTK3, adds GObject introspection support, provides many RandR fixes, adds a new org.mate.desktop GSettings schema, and has numerous other changes.
The MATE 1.10 release succeeds MATE 1.8, which was released last September.
Other MATE 1.10 work items outside of the desktop specifically included support for the ePub format, extension management support in Caja, and dropping of various MATE components in favor of new upstream code.
Before getting too excited, it's not until the MATE 1.12 release when they hope to have full GTK3 support along with support for Wayland. In MATE 1.12 they also hope to support GNOME Announts Service, complete support for systemd-logind, and other features offered by the modern GNOME 3 Shell.
While the MATE 1.10 release announcement hasn't yet crossed the wire officially, it should be soon over at MATE-Desktop.org and the 1.10 code can be cloned from Git.
