Takashi Iwai sent in the sound subsystem updates for the Linux 4.9 kernel. This cycle there continues to be changes all over the place.

While the sound changes are generous and affect the many different areas, some highlights include continued work on Intel Skylake audio, some new sound drivers, HD audio fixes for Dell / Lenovo / HP systems, and various other internal fixes and cleaning.

New Linux sound drivers for the 4.9 kernel include Nuvoton NAU88C10, Realtek RT5660, and Realtek RT5663. The change-log for the Linux 4.9 sound update mentions around three dozen Skylake sound changes still.
