Linux 4.7 Supports Realtek ALC234, Continued Work On Skylake HDMI Audio
Adding to the list of Linux 4.7 features/changes so far are device driver improvements in the audio realm.
The sound work that's worth talking about for the Linux 4.7 cycle includes Realtek ALC234/ALC274/ALC294 support, continued work on Intel Skylake HDMI core support, the Firewire code now supports the M-Audio ProFire series, the USB audio code now supports USB3 SuperSpeed+ devices, and various other sound driver changes/improvements.
It's not the most exciting update for the sound subsystem, but with continued Skylake audio work (though really wish it would have been all squared away by now!), SuperSpeed+ support, and more Realtek codec support is all great to see. More details via the kernel mailing list.
