Much more exciting than American Football is the availability now of 4.5-rc3 as the latest weekly test kernel. Linux 4.5-rc3 remains codenamed "Blurry Fish Butt", which it's been now for a while.
As of writing this post, Linus hasn't volleyed any message onto the Linux Kernel Mailing List, but if he later sends out anything interesting, I'll be sure to update this article. In monitoring Linux Git work throughout the week, it's mostly come down to more bug/regression fixes.
One area that may interest some Phoronix readers are the AMDGPU fixes. With the latest Git, the MC firmware is no longer loaded for Fiji. This kernel also has the changes so AMD Iceland/Topaz hardware is no longer considered experimental.
