Linus Torvalds has just announced the release of Linux 4.4-rc6.

This sixth weekly release candidate for Linux 4.4 "remains fairly normal" according to Linus even though it's slightly larger than -rc5 due to network updates.

Overall, everything is looking normal and Linus expects next week to still be fairly calm due to the holidays.

The Linux 4.4-rc6 announcement can be read via the kernel mailing list archive. If you are not already briefed on the Linux 4.4 changes, see our Linux 4.4 feature overview.
