Linux 4.2-rc6: The Kernel Is Settling Down, 4.2 Final Likely In Two Weeks
Compared to last week with 4.2-rc5, Torvalds is more content this week with the state of the kernel and is hopeful he'll be able to officially release Linux 4.2 in two weeks.
He noted in the release announcement, "So last week I wasn't very happy about the state of the release candidates, but things are looking up. Not only is rc6 finally shrinking noticeably, the issues I was worried about had fixes come in early in the week, and so I don't have anything big pending. Assuming nothing new comes up, I suspect we will end up with the regular release schedule after all (ie in two weeks). Knock wood."
As usual for major kernel releases, Linux 4.2 is bringing a lot of new features and improved functionality.
