MIPS Changes Submitted For Linux 4.14: NI 169445, Omega2+, MT7628A Support
There are many MIPS updates to find with the in-development Linux 4.14 kernel.
Highlights of the MIPS updates that were pulled into 4.14 Git mainline on Friday include:
- Support for the National Instruments NI 169445 MIPS board.
- Omega2+ board support. This MIPS board by Onion is a Linux-based WiFi development board that sells for about $10.
- Mediatek MT7628A SoC support. This 802.11n 2T2R AP SoC launched in 2014 for routers and IoT devices has a 580MHz MIPS processor.
- Enhancements to stack backtraces on MIPS.
- Fixes for various instructions including SWSP16 and ADDIUSP support and various other architectural fixes/improvements.
- MIPS R6000 support has been dropped.
- Watchdog support on Octeon 78XX / CN68XX SoCs.
