New ARM SoCs & Board Support In The Linux 4.11 Kernel
Arnd Bergmann has submitted the big batch of ARM hardware changes for the Linux 4.11 kernel merge window.
Highlights of the ARM changes for this next version of the Linux kernel include:
- The HiSilicon Kirin960/Hi3660 and HiKey960 development board are now supported.
- The NXP LS1012a SoC is now supported along with three reference/developer boards using this hardware.
- The Banana Pi M64 is now supported, which is powered by an Allwinner A64.
- The SolidRun MACCHIATOBin is now supported and uses a Marvell Armada 8K SoC.
- A Broadcom BCM958712DxXMC NorthStar2 developer board is now supported.
- Allwinner has improved DeviceTree configuration for MMC and USB. Qualcomm also has a number of ARM64 DT improvements as does Samsung.
- The Allwinner H2+ and V3s are now supported. The Allwinner H2+ is a quad-core Cortex-A7 and is a variant of the H3. The Allwinner V3s is a SoC with a Cortex A7 and integrated 64MB of DDR2 RAM. The V3s is geared for car systems and IP cameras.
- Improved Renesas power management.
