Linux 4.1-rc4 Kernel Arrives A Day Late
Linus Torvalds released the Linux 4.1-rc4 kernel a short time ago, which is coming a day later than Torvalds' usual tradition of releasing new kernel versions on Sunday afternoons.
Torvalds hasn't yet issued any sort of release announcement for 4.1-rc4, but it's been tagged in Git now for the past hour. Over the past week there was just more bug/regression fixes being entered into the kernel with being well past the Linux 4.1 kernel merge window.
For those not yet up to speed on Linux 4.1, read about the many new Linux kernel features added to this version of the Linux kernel that will be officially released in June.
