Niche Drivers Get Ported To Atomic Mode-Setting For Linux 4.1
Besides the changes Intel already has lined-up for Linux 4.1, Airlie pulled two Git trees that provide atomic mode-setting support to the more niche DRM drivers after Freedreno and Tegra DRM got the Atomic MS treatment for Linux 4.0 along with all of the necessary atomic DRM core support.
The RCar-DU pull for Linux 4.1 in DRM-Next adds atomic mode-setting support for this DRM driver. The R-Car DRU driver is for the Renesas R-Car Display Unit.
The other pull was the Atmel HLCDC driver pull and it adds atomic mode-setting support, a discard area optimization, and implementation of power management primitives. The atmel-hlcdc driver is for Atmel's HLCDC Display Controller.
Expect more Intel, Radeon, and Nouveau driver work for Linux 4.1 to materialize in the weeks ahead.
