Modesetting, PRIME Cursor Improvements Land In X.Org Server
With X.Org Server 1.19 being quickly scheduled for release next month, the merge window's closure is imminent (in fact, already a few days past the original proposal). Today some last minute xf86-video-modesetting and cursor changes landed.
X.Org Server 1.19 has yet to be branched and a load of commits landed at the last minute, work that's been prepared the past few weeks by Red Hat developer Hans de Goede.
One of the main features is PRIME hardware cursor support. Rather than falling back to software cursors when using PRIME multi-GPU rendering, hardware cursors can be used with xorg-server 1.19. Hardware cursors can be enabled as long as they are supported by the slave screen/device
Also landing in X Server Git were various xf86-video-modesetting generic KMS DDX driver improvements. The complete listing can be found via the Git log.
