LLVM 3.9 Planned For Release In Late August
For those wondering about the stable release of LLVM should you be interested in it for packaging Clang, the latest AMDGPU back-end, or other reasons, there is now a tentative release plan.
Hans Wennborg laid out plans at the end of last week to release LLVM 3.9.0 at the end of August. Specifically, he's hoping to have LLVM 3.9.0 final ready for release on 22 August. In order to hit this goal, the release branching would happen on 18 July followed by release candidates. Unfinished feature work would need to be turned off by default starting on 1 August.
Following LLVM 3.9, LLVM 4.0 will likely enter development per their usual versioning scheme. More details on the LLVM 3.9 release planning can be found via this mailing list post.
