LILO 24.2 Bootloader Released Ahead Of Planned Shutdown At Year's End
LILO 24.2 was released today as the first version of this bootloader alternative to GRUB in thirteen months.
The lead LILO developer plans to cease development at the end of the year while LILO 24.2 is coming out now as a bug-fix release.
LILO 24.2 doesn't even appear to be in upstream Git but the packaged NEWS entry indicates the following few changes:

o Remove compile date and time in binary.
o Add 'password' element into example config file.
o Upgrade of liloconfig script and manpage.
