KDE Kirigami UI 2.0 Beta Released: Better Android Integration, QQC2 Focus
Kirigami is KDE's set of UI components and philosophy / patterns announced last year for developing "intuitive and consistent apps that provide a great user experience" and do have convergence applications in mind. Now ringing in 2017, the first beta of Kirigami 2.0 is now available.
Kirigami 2.0 is closely aligned to Qt Quick Control 2's APIs rather than QQC1, performance and efficiency improvements, improved keyboard navigation for desktop applications, and better integration with Material Design on Android.
Plasma's Software Center, Discover, is one of the first applications ported to Kirigami 2. Kirigami 2.0 also introduces a dependency upon Qt v5.7+. More details on the Kirigami 2.0 Beta via today's release announcement at dot.kde.org.
