While Intel Lunar Lake is only beginning to ship later this month, Intel Linux engineers have already begun work on enabling its successor: Panther Lake. With the upcoming Linux 6.12 kernel cycle will be more early enablement work on Intel Panther Lake, presumably what will be the Core Ultra 300 series.

With the current Linux 6.11 cycle there already was initial Panther Lake audio support merged. For the upcoming Linux 6.12 cycle there is Panther Lake support for HDMI audio.

Like the other Intel HDA driver changes, the Panther Lake HDMI audio support is another one-liner just needing a new ID added. The Panther Lake HDMI support is taking the same code paths as used by Intel Core platforms going back to Alder Lake P.

This patch for Intel Panther Lake HDMI audio is queued up as part of the sound subsystem's "for-next" branch with the upcoming Linux 6.12 merge window.

Expect more Intel Panther Lake Linux patches continue to flow into the mainline kernel ahead of Panther Lake processors appearing what will likely be the second half of 2025.
