Intel GVT-g Updates Slated For Linux 4.12
Intel has queued changes for their GVT-g graphics driver stack for Linux 4.12, allowing some improvements around their newly-mainlined graphics virtualization tech support for running VMs with accelerated graphics capabilities.
With Linux 4.10 was the initial Intel GVT support mainlined while since then the support has been improved. For the upcoming Linux 4.12 kernel merge window will be new improvements to GVT-g.
Newly-queued work include a virtual GPU scheduler for QoS support. Additionally, Intel GVT-g has initial Kabylake Xeon E3 server CPU support. More details on this Intel GVT work queued for Linux 4.12 via this mailing list post.
