GTK Scene Kit Merged For GTK4
The GTK+ Scene Graph Kit (GSK) has landed in mainline GTK+ Git as the "spiritual successor to Clutter" and now providing a scene graph for this GNOME toolkit.
The code landed in GTK+ Git just minutes ago and comes just after it gutted all the deprecated APIs and other old components.
Those unfamiliar with GTK's GSK can see this developer blog post for more background information from 2014. The GTK Scene Kit makes use of OpenGL and having a scene graph inside GTK has long been talked about but is finally now a mainline reality. The GSK will allow for better control of the graphics pipeline and for staging complex applications in GTK.
Great to see this finally coming for GTK4 after it was delayed the past few releases. Things are looking great for GTK4 in 2017.
