GTK+ 3.22 Is Working On An OpenGL Renderer & Scene Graph

Clasen's latest blog post covers some of the recent internal changes to GTK+ CSS, theme changes, various changes facing application developers, and more. Those interested about the GTK+ tooling changes can read the blog post.
Getting me most excited was Matthias' concluding remarks about looking ahead at GTK+ 3.22, "One of the big incoming changes for 3.22 is a GL-based renderer and scene graph. Emmanuele has been working on this on-and-off for quite a while – you may have seen some of his earlier presentations. Together with the recent merge of (copies of) clutter and cogl into mutter, this will put clutter on the path towards retirement." For GNOME 3.22 in September, GTK+ 3.22 should have an OpenGL renderer and scene graph support (GSK), at long last! Stay tuned for more GTK+ 3.22 details as the development cycle progresses.
