Fresh Fedora 23 GNOME Shell Wayland Tests
Here are some weekend follow-up tests to last month's GNOME 3.18 On Fedora 23: X.Org vs. Wayland Performance article.
As I had a system around where I'm carrying out some Fedora 21 vs. 22 vs. 23 performance benchmarks, I decided to devote a few extra minutes to running some new stock tests comparing the default GNOME Shell 3.18 experience atop the X.Org Server to then switching to the Wayland-based Shell experience.
Fedora 23 RC3 was on the system with the Linux 4.2 kernel and Mesa 11.0.3.
These quick weekend tests done for the heck of it can be viewed over on this OpenBenchmarking.org result page. More exhaustive tests (and specifying the various SDL video driver environment variables and other extras) will be saved for a featured article once time in my schedule allows.
