Features To Hopefully Look Forward To In GNOME 3.20

With GNOME 3.18 quickly approaching its release, our attention will soon turn towards GNOME 3.20 for release in March of next year.

We already know that viewing LibreOffice documents in GNOME should improve for the next release cycle with code already written. Some other items to look out for that I've found road-mapped so far include:

- Potentially landing the GTK+ Scene Graph! The GSK might finally happen for this next release cycle, per this GNOME.org roadmap. There's also plans for converting all widgets to use CSS nodes and providing an image viewing widget. Many more feature requests remain further out on the GTK+ 3/4 list.

- The Nautilus roadmap has implementing a selection mode, implementing action bars instead of some menus, and finalizing the implementation of a general previewer of files.

- GNOME's Calendar roadmap is planning for a week view mode, an agenda view mode, redesigning the event editor dialog, handling calendar files, and redesigning the search.

- The GNOME To Do task manager is hoping to have Google Online Accounts synchronization, support for sub-tasks, a flow grid view, and more.

- GNOME Maps wants basic editing of OpenStreetMap data, printing of routes, integration with ownCloud, client side rendering support, further support for offline tiles, and a way to downlaod tiles.
